I am an Entrepreneur
Go BackAkwaterra began as a university project. My husband and a team of students had to become entrepreneurs for a trimester and create a business. Being an avid surfer, an outdoor kind of guy and a strong leader, he persuaded his team to create Akwaterra. He also persuaded me to create his logo and branding. Before any of us knew it the school project soon became a reality. A reality we would live for the next 12 years.
As soon as our first daughter was born we put her in a baby Bjorn packed our dog, our cat and our life and boarded the airplane once again, back to our country in Central America where the adventure of Akwaterra and entrepreneurism began. My roles were Marketing Director, Public Relations, Hotel Manager, Specialized Tour Guide, Web Designer, Social Media Manager and keeping our sanity overall. We accomplished amazing testimonials, great write ups and reviews about our company, we were pioneers in El Salvador’s adventure tourism and we created exciting adventure products. It was a hell of a ride and we could definitely write a book and a few sequels. We lived, we loved, we laughed, we learned, we shared.
Our kids grew up packing a weekend bag to go to our beach hotel or to our mountain lodge or to the resort we managed for a few seasons. We were a family of gypsies; always on the go. Never ordinary. Never bored.
